Láb-a
A pilot urban lab in Nikea empowering residents to discuss and co-create their city in everyday life
What is Láb-a?
Láb-a is a pilot urban lab for civic participation. Located in Nikea, GR, a place historically tied to migration, Láb-a responds to declining trust, weak participation, inaccessible and of poor-quality public space by offering an open, everyday space for dialogue, creativity, learning, and action. Through workshops, cultural events, and co-design processes, residents become active co-creators of their city. The project addresses the lack of institutions for residents’ agency to shape their city, by embedding participation in everyday life as a continuous cultural practice.
Láb-a is a collaboration between Places of Togetherness and Nikea's Cultural Center (PEN).
