What would it mean if we were able to exercise in a green space close to our house, and within a supportive framework in the company of others? Would it be possible that we would do it more often? The shared courtyards of Nikea offer the opportunity to try out something like that quite easily and very close to our house. So, we took advantage and met up for a dance class in the courtyard! We dance and enjoyed ourselves, while meeting with other residents. The idea came from Elena Giannetaki, who gives dance classes at the local YMCA. During the pandemic, Elena gave a couple of classes at her grandparents’ courtyard, at the adjacent building block, so that the students could be in an open space. We decided to replicate that idea, and Elena navigated us through latin, rock ‘n roll and traditional Greek dance rhythms!
